From 1 September 2026, and for five days, the city of Lecce, Italy, will become a meeting point for the international creative scene through Mediterranean Fashion Week, an event that connects contemporary fashion with Mediterranean identity, traditional techniques, sustainability, and international creativity. The event will take place under the auspices of Mad Mood Milano, with a strong focus on highlighting and supporting emerging designers from different countries.Mediterranean Fashion Week is not simply another fashion week. Its distinctive character lies in its effort to create a dialogue between fashion, culture, local heritage, and contemporary creativity, using the Mediterranean more broadly as an active cultural setting. In addition, the programme hosts the International Craft & Design Festival, an international gathering dedicated to craftsmanship, design, and cross-cultural exchange. For the first time in Italy, the craft heritage of Central Asia and the Caucasus will be presented, creating a symbolic dialogue between the historic Silk Road and the Mediterranean. It is a great pleasure for me to participate in this year’s event as a Guest International Designer, representing Greece, presenting, through my award-winning fashion label SKiN iT – Constructed Garments, the collection “Wonderland – Chapter II: Rebel Aristocrats.”The collection continues the distinctive visual and sartorial universe of SKiN iT, where garment construction becomes a fundamental tool of storytelling. Rebel Aristocrats moves between aristocratic references, rebellion, and theatricality, redefining the relationship between the body, silhouette, and garment. The presence of SKiN iT at Mediterranean Fashion Week is particularly meaningful because the collection provides an opportunity to bring a contemporary Greek creative voice into an international Mediterranean context. From Athens to the city of Lecce, fashion operates on multiple levels—not only as design, but also as a means of cultural dialogue between the diverse identities of the Mediterranean.
